Overview

With the Premier 105 Prince gives intermediate ball strikers a very easy path to pace and spin. Fans of the popular O3 Red should love this racquet's user-friendly playability, controllable power and "best of class" vibration dampening. Boasting a slightly extended length (for extra momentum), this stick whips easily and powerfully through contact. Thanks to the use of Textreme in the layup, the Premier 105 has excellent feel and above average stability for its weight class. Factor in Prince's time-tested 03 Port system and you have some serious comfort and shock reduction. From the baseline medium length strokes deliver good depth, with lethal put-away power on big cuts. There's also enough spin potential for hitting heavy balls that explode off the court. At net this racquet holds up well against pace, with easy depth and targeting on block volleys. Thanks to the extended length and lively response, this racquet offers easy net clearance and big power on serves. Prince has delivered an impressive combination of comfort, spin and pop to a wide range of players. Club doubles players looking to hit a bigger ball have come to the right place! Did we mention comfort and power?

Comments: This an excellent high quality racquet. I recommend this stick to any senior advanced player who wants pro level performance at a great price. I just purchased four more frames, two for me in a year from now and two for my training partner who is a national champion.

Comments: I am a 4.0 doubles player. Having had tennis elbow several times over the years, I demoed 5 arm-friendly racquets to replace my Prince EXO3 Red 105s as I cracked one and the other is quite old. All the racquets I tested were 104-105 sq inches. They were: Head MXG 5, Prokennex Ki Q+ 15, Volkl V Feel 4, Prince Textreme Beast 105, and the Prince Textreme Premier 105. Although they all played quite well, one stood out above the rest -- the Prince Textreme Premier. It was slightly (but noticeably) more powerful and yet had significantly more control than the others. It was also more stable on ground strokes and volleys that were off center -- especially when the incoming ball was hard hit. On volleys all the racquets had a nice solid pop, but when hit off center, the Prince Textreme Premier remained stable, whereas the others twisted in my hand. On ground strokes I could take a big swing at the ball resulting in a solid, fast-paced shot staying on the court. So the Prince Textreme Premier, in my view, had the best combination of power, control, and stability. Although there are several arm-friendly strings available, my favorite is Luxilon Alu Flouro 17g which is one of Luxilon's 2 softer strings. As recommended by Luxilon, I string it about 10 percent below normal tension -- 53 lbs on the Prince Textreme Premier.

Comments: I recently demoed a few racquets (Head MicroGel OS, Prince Lightning, Babolat Pure Drive 107, and Prince textreme Premier 105) from TW, and I was impressed by the Prince Textreme Premier 105. I was looking for a thin beam to replace my Head LiquidMetal 8s. So I spent weeks finding something I might like. First two out of the bag were the Prince Lightning, and the Babolat Pure Drive. Both of them just felt dead in my hand. The Lightning was still a wide body, but neither provided any feedback upon contact. I then tried the Prince Textreme Premier 105, and I was immediately impressed. Without changing anything in my game my returns were landing deeper in the box, and every shot felt like effortless power with complete control. I then tried the Head MicroGel OS with a very lackluster performance. I really thought the MicroGel was going to be my new racquet, but similar shots to the Prince Textreme were barely clearing the net. I had control, but complete lack of power really turned me off. Although the Prince Textreme Premier 105 has a slightly bigger beam it is by far smaller then my Liquidmetal 8s. I am a 45 yearold, 4.0 player, I can hit every shot including the tweener, love to hit with a lot of spin, including top spin 2nd serves, and after playing with the Prince Textreme I ordered 5 of them. I've never been big on trying strings made for spin, since I break strings a lot, but I figured I would try it on one of the 5 I ordered. I went with Volkl Cyclon 16 (fluo orange) at 53 lbs and really love it. I should have ordered them all with Volkl string. I'll bet the string gives me at least 1-2 feet earlier drop, and when I wanna go crazy I've kicked some 2nd serves over 6'. Its strange to watch the ball curve, drop, and kick more then I've ever done before, but I love it.

Comments: I am a 3.5/4.0 female doubles player. Demoed 4 racquets and fell in love with this one. I am typically a net player but my groundstrokes have greatly improved and I would say serve returns. Finishing the point with this racquet -- highly recommend.

Comments: I loved this racquet but there is a slight problem. The bumper guard at the top of the racquet is weak plastic and cracks easily. Prince has no replacement for this. Once cracked, the racquet looses some of it's stiffness and plays very differently. TW is aware of this and working with Prince to fix so they say.

Comments: I'm a senior 4.0 player and I also liked this racquet. (Per previous comments below, what is it with seniors liking it so much?) I thought it had good power, or medium power as TW correctly described it. And good control. Decent stability for its light weight. Seemed easy on my arm. I might add a touch of lead tape. Overall, an excellent racquet.

Comments: This is a great racquet for senior 4.5 players. Light and powerful plus good control. I string with hybrid set at 50 lbs. Prince has done better with quality control this time.
From: Hunter, 10/16

Comments: I'm 73 years old and a slightly built male and want a comfortable and powerful racquet. I demo-ed this racquet and it was a very pleasant surprise and it was also very maneuverable. My old concern was my volleys lacked as much punch as I personally wanted, but I may not have found the optimal sweet spot. This seems to be a great racquet.

Comments: I'm a 3.5 club doubles player who has long been a fan of Prince's 03 technology. I'm glad that Prince has continued the technology in the Premier 105 racquet. This racquet has more control than the Premier 105 ESP racquet, and more comfort that the 03 Red. There isn't anything I don't like about this racquet.
