Overview

The Neutron 5.0 Pickleball Paddle is the lightest paddle in the Gamma Quantum lineup. Essential to the production of quick hands on court, a lightweight polypropylene honeycomb core integrated into the Live Periphery frame eliminates dead spots while increasing durability at the edges. The Neutron features a graphite hitting surface, carbon fiber unibody handle design, and Flush-Fit bumper for excellent edge protection without the risk of mis-hits. The 5.0 model includes a textured hitting surface for more spin and a perforated honeycomb grip. If you like the Gamma Voltage paddle but wanted a lighter option, the Neutron paddle is for you.

Budget power paddleThis is a budget power paddle with a good-looking retro aesthetic. I was a beginner when I purchased it so I didn’t know what I was buying other than it looked good. Now that I’ve played with it for a month and a half, I’ve moved on to another paddle that I like better. I probably would not buy this one again, partly for quality reasons and partly because this is more of an intermediate paddle. Quality-wise, the grit wore off the face quickly and the handle wrap started to come loose. Handling-wise, this one is thin and tactile and fairly light but weighted a bit toward the top. It hits the ball nicely enough but with barely any pop, so you’ll be doing all the work. If you’re good enough to use this paddle to its potential, you’d probably do better with a different brand. Otherwise for the beginner+ like me I’d recommend a bit thicker paddle and spending a bit more.
