Pickleballs come in two distinct types based on the surface you are playing on, and having the right type of ball is extremely important. Outdoor balls typically have 40 small holes to ensure a more predictable flight path in windy conditions. Indoor balls typically have 26 larger holes and are made with softer, lighter plastic for more accurate shots and bounce on indoor surfaces.
