Head celebrates tennis icon Arthur Ashe with this limited edition version of the Boom MP

Introducing the Boom MP Arthur Ashe! Featuring the same specs as the standard version, this limited-edition cosmetic showcases the classic silver color of the racquet Ashe used throughout his iconic career. On the court, the Boom MP Arthur Ashe offers explosive speed from the baseline and quick handling at the net. It also features a unique head shape, which creates a more forgiving contact zone in the upper hoop, along with a larger spin window. The result is a uniquely comfortable modern player's racquet with near-effortless access to power and spin. The primary technology is Auxetic 2, a uniquely flexible material in the yoke and handle that optimizes the response. Other technologies include a Morph Beam, which blends box and angular cross sections to combine classic control and feel with impressive stability and power. The Boom MP Arthur Ashe also features Graphene Inside, which strengthens the frame in key locations to provide a more powerful and stable hitting experience. In addition to being a great collectible, this racquet is perfect for intermediate and advanced players who want a speedy and uniquely comfortable player's racquet with easy access to power and spin.

Such a great racquetI demoed several racquets before this one. This is a great racquet and has power. I have played for a little over two years so this is a good beginner racquet.

Excellent power and control, a bit lightMy daughter had been using the first version of the Boom for a few years and loved it. She really grew her skills over that time and this racquet had no problem keeping up. We decided to upgrade to the new version as a celebration of her making her high school team, and she likes the new version even more. I'm not sure there's a huge difference for her in terms of feel, but the aesthetic is really nice so there's probably some placebo effect. The only word of caution is, it's a bit too light. My daughter is not particularly big or strong and she still felt like in its stock form it was being pushed around and didn't have enough plow through on ground strokes. I added about 10 grams in total, 4 grams in the throat and the rest at 10 and 2, and it's been perfect. Pro tip: Tecnifibre sells lead strips that are mostly white, if you're looking to match the look of the racquet.

Boom MP 2024.The 2024 Boom MP is an improved version over the 2022 model. The balance of the racquet feels slightly more head light than previous model, which gives it a super fast swing speed. Ease of use is the amongst the best in Head's lineup of racquets, whilst maintaining decent mass. The very open string pattern provides very good spin and feel. The expanded upper portion of the hoop provides an excellent large sweet spot. Power is good and control is okay. Serving is very natural as the effort to swing is very easy. Over all out of Head's massive line up of racquets, which I have tried most, the Boom MP is currently my favorite do it all, easy to use and enjoyably fun racquet. The weight and swingweight is right in the sweetspot for most recreation players. Not too heavy, not too light. I string with Head Lynx Touch at 52 pounds, provides excellent comfort, pop, with decent spin.

Good for beginners, not the best for advancedA good racquet if you’re looking for something that’s comfortable to swing with easier power. However, if you are a player on the more advanced side looking for more control, this is not the racquet for you. The Boom MP lacks directional control which makes it hard to hit your targets. All in all, the Boom MP is a great racquet for beginners, but if you are more advanced, you should look for something like the EZONE 100.
