Best All-Around: Skechers Viper Pro 2

What makes it great: The Viper Court Pro 2 is Skechers’ update to the proven Viper Court Pro. Evolving in to a more substantial, comfortable and supportive court shoe, the Viper Court Pro 2 weighs slightly more than its predecessor but without having to sacrifice a speedy feel around the court or on the town! Skechers uses the same responsive Ultra-Flight midsole, which maintains this shoe’s low-to-the court stance while delivering excellent midsole cushioning. New to the formula is Goodyear's Gold outsole compound, which improves both traction and overall outsole durability. Like the prior model, the breathability of the Viper Court Pro 2 is outstanding via the use of mesh in the upper. Players who have a slightly wider foot type and also demand out-of-the-box comfort and performance will want to consider the Viper Court Pro 2!

Best Comfort: Selkirk CourtStrike Pro

What makes it great: Can a company known for making great pickleball paddles seamlessly shift to making great pickleball shoes? After splaying with the Selkirk CourtStrike Pro our playtesters answered that question with a resounding yes! The CourtStrike Pro affords instant 360-degree comfort with zero break-in required. In addition, Selkirk built the upper of the CourtStrike Pro to be supportive, long lasting and breathable. Traction wise, the CourtStrike Pro's outsole rubber compound provides predictable and safe directional changes on any hard court surface. Finishing off the formula for the Courtstrike Pro shoe is a six-month outsole warranty, which is easily redeemed through Pickleball Warehouse.

Best Lightweight: Head Pro Motion

What makes it great: The women's version of the Head Pro Motion pickleball shoe tips the scales at 11.6 ounces, and the men's example comes in around 13.6 ounces, which caters to a speedy, agile feel around the court. Complementing that high degree of maneuverability is a very supportive, breathable combination of mesh and the strategically located TPU overlays used for the construction of the upper. If there is any question, our playtesters are happy to report that the hard court traction of the Head Pro Motion is on par with rest of the shoe's performance. Together with Head's Dynafoam midsole material, the Pro Motion flexes in the right spots, delivers ultimate comfort and works with a player's every move.

Best Durability: Asics Gel Dedicate 8 Pickleball

What makes it great: As with other Asics court shoes, the Gel Dedicate 8 has become a player favorite for pickleball. The eighth offering of this shoe rewards a player with a glove-like fit, for a medium width foot type, and is true to size in terms of length. Its comfortable upper delivers plenty of support and durability while still allowing your feet to breath. Traction wise the Gel Dedicate 8's outsole and tread pattern provide the proper amount of grip versus slip on a hard court to confidently dive in to and accelerate out of your shots. Although the Gel Dedicate does not come with an outsole warranty, the outsole rubber compound is extremely abrasion resistant and durable.

Best for Support: KSwiss Pickleball Supreme

What makes it great: In terms of top-notch pickleball shoes the KSwiss Pickleball Supreme combines high quality materials to produce an extremely stable and supportive hard-court shoe. The use of KSwiss' Durawrap for the upper delivers all-day comfort, breathability and holds your feet in place while sprinting around the court. Those aggressive movements are wholly supported by the proven Aosta outsole rubber formula, which strikes a nice blend of predictable traction and outsole durability. To add an even higher level of support along with a secure, locked in feel KSwiss developed a molded EVA sock liner for its aptly named Pickleball Supreme shoe.

Honorable Mention: adidas CourtFlash PB

What makes it great: From the ground up the adidas CourtFlash PB shoe blends premium materials to produce a premium hard court pickleball shoe at a great price point! An EVA midsole minimizes weight while maximizing underfoot comfort throughout every directional change made on court. And the CourtFlash PB also boasts a sturdy upper that provides excellent lateral support and ventilation. Featuring a medium width and running slightly long in terms of length, the adidas Courtflash is an ideal court shoe for recreational and competitive players alike.
