Overview

If your sights are set on a premium elongated paddle with incredible feel, predictability and spin potential, look no further than Selkirk s Vanguard Pro Invikta! The popular Invikta shape is the same, but don t confuse the Vanguard Pro as being just another update. At the heart of the matter is Selkirk s 16mm X5+ Polypropylene Core, which complements its realistic power and soaks up vibration without sacrificing a connected feel to the ball. Enhancing the quality of the Pro Invikta's sweet spot, and level of comfort is the use of Selkirk's Thermoformed Foam Edge injection around the perimeter of the core, which is secured underneath the ultra-durable EdgeSentry Edgeguard. On either side of the X5+ core are 4 Layers of 12k Raw Carbon Fiber, which layered together produces a crisp response is extremely durable and easily delivers top tier levels of spin on the ball. The 16.45 inch paddle length is paired with a 5.5 inch long handle, a standard 4.25 inch grip diameter and the Vanguard Invikta Pro is available in a 7.8 - 8.2 ounce weight range. Ideal for intermediate to elite level players, Selkirk s Vanguard Pro Invikta affords a noticeable, but measured amount of backcourt power and its precision oriented nature shines even brighter in near the kitchen.

Sculpt shots. For comparison when reading this, I play with the 6.0 Ruby as well, and really enjoy it, but I wanted a dedicated elongated paddle for singles. Also, variety, spice of life, etc. At first, the play was extremely similar. I started to notice though that on cross court shots I was able to tighten the arc of the ball over the net to hit some pretty incredible angles. I'm a player with a lot of top spin, and very little slice, and I could almost feel myself pulling the ball in the direction I wanted. What's that mean? Very little pop, decent power, but incredible feel. I wouldn't want it any other way for a singles paddle where kitchen line hands battles are less of a thing.

Fair paddlePaddle looks good. The strip that covers the paddle is not necessary. Power is about the same as the Vanguard Invitka. For control, the Luxx Epic seems to have more. For spin I did not notice any major improvement.

All court goodnessThis paddle strikes the perfect blend of control and power indexing more toward control. Why is this good? If you like to drive, this is the right one because it allows you to stroke without spraying fully. In the end, points are won or lost in the kitchen and this paddle has precision touch.
