Engineered for power and spin

Developed over several years of relentless testing, Mach 10 was originally known as 10jx and Confidential 4.0. It is Solinco's most technologically advanced string to date. The secret sauce is called CloudFORM, a unique chemical agent that softens the string without the usual tradeoffs in playability duration. With five sharp edges for enhanced bite and a low-friction surface for vicious snapback, Mach 10 is extremely spin-friendly. Factor in the higher power level, and you get a heavy ball that drops hard and explodes off the court.

Excellent entry into the soft poly marketBackground: 4.5 male, part-time high performance coach. On court hitting or feeding roughly 25 hrs per week. Racquets of choice are the Yonex VCORE 97D and Yonex Percept 97D. I typically string my own racquets with Hyper-G Soft 18G at 45-48lbs. Take Hyper G soft and add 20% more slickness, 5% more power, 10% less shock and noticeably better tension maintenance, and what you get is MACH10. It does all the things I wished Hyper G Soft would do. This is now my go-to string for playing and teaching. Be sure to pre-stretch or double pull when stringing (preferably on both mains and crosses, but at least on the mains so they retain more of that snap-back over time). I've played about 12 hours with MACH 10 18G at 46lbs mains / 44 lbs crosses in my Percent 97Ds (mostly indoors). Been teaching double that amount of time with the VCORE 97Ds, 48lbs mains/crosses (outdoors) If you're currently playing with Hyper G Soft and are looking for something with a little bit more umph, this is it.

Increased tension by 4 lbs and it felt greatI am the one below who increased the tension in my Mach 10 from 43/41 to 47/45 (I have been using Hyper G 18 at 43/41). Totally different feel and it was great

Mushy feel but pretty good on sliceI have been using Solinco Hyper G 18 for years - first on my Yonex Ezone (the version before this existing one), and then on my Wilson RF01 Pro. Strung at 43/41. Then I tried the Mach 10 (18 gauge) at the same tension. It feels mushy and not as crisp as the Hyper G18. I cut it out after 3 hours and re-strung at 47/45, hoping to get a firmer feel. Will try it out P.S. The only thing (so far) that the Mach 10 is better than the Hyper G is BH slice

My New Go ToI've been experimenting with strings and have four racquets string up - Hyper-G, RS Zero, RS Zero/Sync, and Vanquish/TB. Been looking for 'The' string for me, and I found it. Mach 10 isn't the most powerful, spin friendly, or touch oriented but it does everything well. Crisp yet soft, responsive yet firm. Hard to describe but it offers a little extra pop and some good feel. 48 pounds on 2024 Head Speed MP.

ArtworkI'm a 5.5 player that likes to play the thinnest gauge and string often. The Mach 10 18 gauge is perfect. Strung at 50 pounds, this string is geared to hurt my opponents' feelings. This string is precise, holds tension very well, (double pull on mains and crosses) and gives me the power and touch to really execute great shots.

Not What I ExpectedI generally play with 20 gauge Hyper G. Of the various polys I've tried, it provides the best combination of spin and power. I tried Mach 10 (18 gauge) because I wouldn't mind getting a little more power and feel. Mach 10 definitely delivers more pop. But it utterly fails to deliver the spin I'm accustomed to with Hyper G. That was a surprise. To me, Mach 10 plays like a synthetic gut, not a poly. It probably will help players who have arm trouble due to poly. But that's not me. I've watched a quite a few positive Mach 10 reviews. Some say it's a gateway poly for players who haven't played with a poly before. Whatever. I have great respect for Solinco, but I can't recommend this stuff, except maybe for players who desperately need something softer. Even then, I suspect there are better options.
