TOROLINE Wasabi 17/1.23 String
4.0

Wasabi puts an extremely tight grip on the ball before snapping it out of the string bed with vicious RPMs
Boasting four ultra-sharp edges and a low-friction surface, Wasabi puts an extremely tight grip on the ball before snapping it out of the string bed with vicious RPMs. It's also one of the firmer and more control-oriented polys in Toroline's line-up, which means it will let you swing as big as you want when loading the ball with pace and spin.
Note: Toroline sets come pre-cut in 2 half sets, which means they cannot be strung as 1pc.
- Gauge: 17/1.23
- Length: 40ft/12.2m

Maybe better at higher tensionI picked up a couple of sets after seeing a favorable review by Tennisnerd on YouTube. My racquet is a Wilson Shift 99 V1 which was the racquet used in the YouTube review. I strung it up at 50lbs which is lower than the tension used in the review.
My results were unsatisfying. Control, power, and spin were decent, and comfort level was good, but the feel was unsatisfying. It's hard to describe, but it was like a subtle bouncy feeling after contacting the ball.
I have another set that I'll eventually try at a higher tension- maybe as high as 55lbs. I also tried Toroline's K-POP in a my other racquet which is a Shift Pro. That one is a hybrid where I used Wasabi in the crosses at 50lbs. It worked much better there.
Two sets, solid stringI was gifted some Toroline a while back, and have alternated using WASABI or PolyTour (Rev/Pro/Fire) in my strings. I typically string a hybrid setup at 46 M /48 Crosses, sometimes with a shaped string in the mains.
I think the WASABI holds up just as well as Poly Tour pro, particularly if its at a higher tension, I almost always have breaks in the mains first.
FYSA this comes with two sets of strings in DIFFERENT colors (which TW doesn't specify). Great color! Neon green and a luminescent blue.
Great on hybridGot these for mains and Head Hawk Touch for crosses. There are just perfect for the spin and the hybrid gets you wow control and power. I find these very durable for my game. I don't know how would perform on a full bed.

Mediocre stringsTested 3 strings from Toroline and they all have mushy, rubbery/plasticky feel to them. I can see recreational players liking this kind of string as it feels softer but the problem I had was that the strings were losing tension within the first few hours and had to cut it out next day. Not recommeded for high performance players.

Great StringsI've had the pink version of this string before it was on Tennis Warehouse and it was great. I strung it at 52 pounds and it played great. It's a pretty muted feel so it can help people who struggle with tennis elbow or want a more comfortable racquet and string combo. It has wonderful spin potential due to the slick surface and sharp shape. Also looks great on court which is a plus :)

Hyper-G Soft?I have the green version of this string. Very slick, spin-friendly and arm comfortable string. I would describe the feeling of the string as dampened, not much feedback when the ball hits the strings, which is bad for feel, but good for arm-comfort. The slickness of the string really help with string snapback which enhances spin potential. I can see this string being very popular with baseline centric players that like to hit spinny bombs.
