Not for meI usually get the gamma brand one and I tried the Wilson one after one mishaps of hitting the ball with it it broke it functioned well before that but for long term I don’t think this is gonna be it for me

Dampens well, breaks easilyAs many others have said, this type of dampener has a tendency to break at the clip. I had an older similar style of dampener on my racket that lasted years and I eventually threw away because the outer plastic was starting to degrade. I broke a clip one of these within a few hitting sessions. I like how this looks but the replacement cost is very high if you're unlucky enough to make a fatal mishit. A standard dampener between the middle mains and slightly overlapping the bottom cross does nearly as good of a job at dampening without the risk of breaking.

Good dampenerEasy to install and not to worry to loose it. What more do you expect more from a simple dampener? My second buy.

Comments: I started using this more than a year ago. I play on the average three times a week. I am on my second dampener in all this time. It's great.

Comments: This seems to be made in the same factory as Gamma Shockbusters, even the plastic end pieces are identical. However, the Wilson one costs more, and more importantly, it's about a centimeter shorter than the Gamma one, so it doesn't cover as many strings. If you're looking at this you probably want that maximum dampened effect, so I will kindly direct you to the Gamma Shockbuster.

Comments: I bought two. Both of them broke after playing a few sets. The piece that seems to break is the plastic connector. Also, it did not seem to dampen vibration as much as some other models. I would not recommend it.

Comments: I tried this on my Head Youtek Radical OS and WeissCannon Explosiv at 50 lbs. You weave it in and out of the strings, and hook the ends on. Does seem to reduce vibration on off-center hits. I don't notice any vibration on sweet-spot hits, dampener or no dampener. The plastic is quite thick, so I am hopeful that a direct hit on the dampener will not cause leakage. To help ensure the hooks are on securely, I stretch the dampener out a little as I install it so that there is a little pressure on the hooks after installing. I had read articles that said that dampeners do nothing for vibration, only sound, but I am starting to believe that they can indeed reduce felt vibration. I am fairly scared of getting tendonitis again, and all in all, I am satisfied with this product. A plus is that it contacts many strings, and you don't have to spread strings apart to install it.
