Plush and precise, this update combines quick handling with mindless accuracy and outstanding feel

With the 2025 version of the EZONE 98, Yonex delivers an irresistible combination of speed, comfort, and precision. Like the previous version, this racquet combines a control oriented 98in² head with a spin-friendly string pattern and stable beam construction. It's also remarkably fast, making it one of the most user-friendly racquets in its class. For 2025, the EZONE 98 comes with a lower RA stiffness, giving this already comfortable racquet an even more buttery feel. Yonex also overhauls the frame geometry, thickening the beam in the upper hoop to enhance power and stability, while adding a groove on the inner portion of the frame to help the racquet bend optimally through impact. To further enhance comfort, Yonex adds an ultra-thin natural fiber to the shaft (called Minolon) to dampen harsh vibrations. Yonex also continues with 2G NAMD SPEED, an advanced material innovation that helps the frame transfer more energy to the ball. The defining feature remains the ISOMETRIC head shape, giving the EZONE 98 an unmistakably more forgiving response than conventionally shaped equivalents. Ultimately, with its exceptional feel and ultra-easy shot placement, this impressive update from Yonex is hard to put down.

Almost thereI have been looking for a players racquet since my Wilson Pro Staff began causing me wrist pain. The Ezone 98 is a much softer racquet. My volley, serve and overhead are easier to execute. The only issue is the overall weight. I tried adding lead tape at 3, 9 and in the grip but the racquet lost its feel and felt like a board. My suggestion to Yonex is to increase the swing weight to 325. This would stabilize the racquet for better ground strokes.

Better than previous versionI have been playing with the previous version for the past few years. It's an awesome racquet. When I first hit with the new 2025 model, what I noticed was that it was more comfortable and stable and I can feel more connected to the ball than the previous version. On the other hand, my ball were not as fast and heavy compare to the previous version. Like everything, you need time to figure out how to unlock the potential of the racquet. After playing with it for a few weeks, I can now hit even faster, heavier and with more control than the previous model. This new model really let you hit out and the ball will stay in. For me, the 2025 model is more comfortable, feel more connected, more stable, better control and hit a harder and more penetrating ball than the previous model.

It confirms what's been said about it.First of all, I've been playing with the Yonex Ezone 98L (300g with personalized weight) for three months now. I've tested the racquet extensively in both matches and training. As a 4.5 player, my observations are as follows: For the last two years, I played with the Babolat Pure Aero 98. Due to a wrist problem, I decided that this racquet wasn't suitable for me. Based on customer reviews, I wanted to buy a Yonex Ezone. And I found that the racquet really makes me feel comfortable, and this has a very positive effect on my body. I feel much more controlled than when I played with the Pure Aero 98. At the same time, despite being a power racquet, I haven't encountered any shortcomings in terms of spin generation compared to the Pure Aero. The fact that my personalized Ezone 98 is about 5 grams lighter also makes it easier to use and may facilitate spin generation. The serves are very controlled. The racquet helps me use the type of serve I want to the area I want. The racquet works incredibly well with slices. You feel safe on slices. Since I haven't used an isometric head yet, it took me 1.5 months to get used to it. But my current experience and feeling is focused on playing with this racquet for a long time. I don't understand why I played with racquets that caused pain in my arm, didn't give me this much control, and had similar power generation characteristics. In that sense, I'm happy with the racquet.

L for YonezMajor downgrade from yonex. The update feels very mushy and disconnected to the ball. It doesn’t have the pop and feel of the previous version. The string bed feels vague and on occasion will suddenly give you pop and force a ball long. Yonex bring back the livelier stiffer feel of the previous version

New Ezone User playing w/it on/off for 1-yearI was tempted by the Ezone at the 2025 Aussie Open when Madison Keys switched to it and she won. The local shop in San Diego has a wall that I can take a bunch of racquets to and hit against and the Ezone stood out as the best one of that demo. I went back a second time and the Ezone stood out again so I went ahead and bought it. When I received it I used Grapplesnake on the mains and Restring Sync on the crosses and it was a joy to hit with! Lots of maneuverability, tons of control, easy to hit serves in, I rarely double fault with it. Has a unique feel. I went to Europe for a 2-month trip and brought the Ezone with me, normally I would have too many racquets to choose from, but it was just me and the Ezone in Italy together on the clay. We really bonded on this trip and I took a ton of lessons at the local clubs. When I got back to California I was jet lagged and tried to implement all the new techniques I learned from my instructors and I lost 2-3 singles matches and decided to move on from the Ezone... I would occasionally bring it out of the bag but it didn't stick. Finally after searching other racquets, trying out the Pro Staff V14 and Babolat Pure Aero 98, I decided to restring the Ezone with the Grapplesnake and the Restring again and we rekindled our love for each other. It offers so much spin, control, and stability. It does feel slightly underpowered but I'm willing to accept that for all the great things it does. It gives me confidence to hit shots and know exactly where they are going to land and that is a big advantage when dictating points in tennis. I've never used Ezone before so I can't compare it to a previous model, but I used the Wilson Blade 18x20 for a long time and am finding it to have similar control, a slightly similar feel, and tons more maneuverability. I am going to stick with this one for a while, and I hope you give it a try!

Excellent control, feel & comfortI’m 48 years old. I played with the Wilson Blade K-Factor 18×20 from 2010, strung at 28/27 kg. I’m an advanced competitive amateur, singles player, with solid technique, around a 4.5 level. It was time to update my racket, so without hesitation I chose the Blade v6 18×20. At first I didn’t feel much difference, but despite similar specs, the swingweight turned out to be slightly higher, and after about six months this led to tennis elbow. I didn’t want to switch to overly powerful, uncontrollable frames without proper feedback, and after several demos I settled on the Ezone 98. Even with the demo racquet I immediately felt less vibration and a lighter swing. Now, after a year of playing with this racquet, my elbow has fully recovered — I feel absolutely no limitations or discomfort even under intense arm load. I’m still playing with the same stiff poly strings at 26/25 kg. Excellent control, feel, and balance, but without vibration and shock. Highly recommended.

Extraordinary RacquetThe Ezone 98 v8 is has everything you want as a racquet. You can play solid baseline shot with Ezone 98, the ball placements are more precise compared to the previous gen. Spin is not very hard to generate if you have enough racquet head speed. This racquet requires you to swing fast to keep the ball in court. The feeling might be muted for Head's or Wilson's fans but this won't be a problem once you get used to it. I prefer to put on a thin leather grip to feel the bevels better.

Interesting racquetI tried it once and didn’t like it at all. It had a multifilament string setup and I didn’t enjoy feeling absolutely nothing. Later, I tested it with Polytour Strike, Polytour Spin, and Solinco Confidential. The sensations were completely different. I found control, easy depth, and a lot of aggressiveness in my shots. I’m still testing it, but it convinces me more and more each day.
