Get Ready for the Lawns of London

Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and is widely regarded as the most prestigious. It is the only major still played on grass (with an exact cut height of 8mm) and the only major to have a strict all-white dress code for the players.

The smell of fresh cut grass, the taste of sweet strawberries and cream, and the look of crisp tennis whites all get us excited to watch this iconic event. There is something effortlessly cool and classic about grass court styles. The absence of color is replaced by added attention to design details and fabric textures. For those of us paying attention from afar, Tennis Warehouse has everything we need to feel closer to the action going on across the pond.
Dress Like the Pros
Dress Like the Pros
We may never get to play on center court at a major, but that doesn't have to stop us from looking the part! This year the excitement on the court features styles by adidas with a Stan Smith inspired vibe (He took home the men's singles trophy in 1972). Lacoste is utilizing a subtle print reminiscent of the lines on a tennis court for their men's looks and jacquard knit detailing on the women's side. Yonex makes good use of breathable mesh accents for both men and women. Nike continues to offer cutouts for women and crisp classic looks for men. These are some of our favorite pro styles.
Club Whites
Club Whites
Whether or not your home court has a white dress code, it's hard not to get inspired by the cool, classic looks seen on the grass. White is a core court essential year-round, but this time of year it always seems that much more special. We wanted to showcase some of the Club White styles that stand out this season.
In the Stands
In the Stands
Unlike the players on court, there is no particular dress code for the spectators who attend the matches except anyone wearing torn jeans, running vests, dirty sneakers, or sport shorts may be denied entry and fans are expected to dress well for the more important matches. At Wimbledon, it's not uncommon to see royalty in the stands -- from the palace or the silver screen -- so there is added incentive to look your best.
Throw a Lawn Party
Throw a Lawn Party
Picnicking on "The Hill" while watching the matches on big screens is a very popular way of dining during the tournament. For those of us watching from afar, a garden party sounds like a great idea to celebrate the the action on center court. Wimbledon is held every year at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, so get out the wickets and set out a spread with strawberries and cream, tea sandwiches and scones, and a large bowl of Pimm's punch. Tennis Warehouse has a variety of items for the festivities -- from setting the table to small parting gifts for your guests.

Don't Miss Out on the Fun

Whether you are planning to travel to London to watch the tournament in person, looking for a crisp bright white ensemble to play a champion-inspired match at home, or celebrating with a party on the lawn or in the garden, Tennis Warehouse has your favorite on- and off- court styles and accessories to make this grass court season a hit!
