Overview
Command the court with your quick feet in the Solution Speed FF. One of the most popular women's shoes gets updated and now features Flyte Foam cushioning in the midsole making it even lighter than ever, more cushioned and more durable. The seamless upper provides step in comfort and style while the Flexion Fit ensures a better fit compared to the previous Solution Speed 3. This shoe allows freedom of movement as the shoe will flex and twist with your feet while still offering amazing stability for such a feather light shoe. The rubber outsole will offer great traction for the most aggressive movers on the court.
- Upper: Seamless PU upper with Flexion Fit for a wider fit than the previous model. A built in inner support helps with step-in comfort and flexibility. Personal Heel Fit technology locks in the back of the foot for better stability and fit. AHAR outsole wraps up at the toe for improved durability.
- Midsole: FlyteFoam cushioning in the midsole adds responsive cushioning, a lighter midsole experience and more durability. The midfoot Trusstic system helps resist unwanted twisting for added support and stability.
- Outsole: Asics High Abrasion Rubber in a modified herringbone tread pattern offers good durability and traction on any court surface.
- Color: Blue Coast / White

Comments: I wasn't sure on what to expect because of the mixed reviews and no previous experience on Asics tennis shoes. I loved them from the first day on the court! When I tried them out of the package they felt super tight. However, within one hour of playing they became very comfortable to wear and provide exactly what I need. Light shoes that let you have speed and stability, super comfortable, and no toe jams! I certainly found my favorite shoes for tennis!

Comments: This is my fourth pair of Solution Speed FF. I have always loved these shoes, but this latest pair has caused toe pain since the second day of wearing them. No matter how many times I adjust the laces, I still end up limping in pain. Maybe just a bad pair, but I'm ready to go back to my last pair that are bald on the bottom and look for something else. Disappointing to say the least. Now I am looking at another brand to avoid having the same issue if I order another pair of FF shoes.

Comments: I was a fan of the Solution Speed 2 and never bought the 3 because of the bad reviews and references from friends, so I switched to the Asics Gel Resolution, which I never really loved. I finally decided to give the FF shoes a try, and I am glad that I got them at a steep discount because I will probably give them away and not even bother with paying return shipping. I'm a size 6 with narrow feet and medium arches and always buy size 7 sneakers so that I can change the insoles, and these are tight and uncomfortable all over, even with the regular insoles. My main hesitance to buy these was the plastic material, which I'm guessing contributes to my feet feeling so compressed and uncomfortable. I have only worn them around the house to try to break them in, but they are intolerable. I have a bad case of plantar fasciitis so I spend my days in Brooks Phantom running shoes with special insoles to alleviate the pain, they've helped tremendously, and wearing these around the house for one day aggravated my heel and arch pain the following day. Needless to say, I do not recommend at all. I hope Asics will one day bring back a true improved version of the Speed 2, or even just the same version, which I was totally happy with. For reference I play around two days a week, mostly doubles, at a 4.5 level. My search continues.

Comments: I gave these shoes a try, although I was a little bit skeptical having read all the reviews. I was a big fan of the previous model, the Asics Gel Solution Speed 3, which felt like the perfect tennis shoes to me. How would I compare the Solution Speed FFs to the previous model Gel Solution Speed 3? The positives are that the Speed FFs offer more support all around than the Solution Speed 3 shoes. There is more cushioning for side to side movements. They also feel very responsive to changing direction on the court. They are a little bit wider around ankles, therefore they do not cause any pain or discomfort in that area. Some reviewers were complaining that the shoes are too tight for them. I have narrow feet, so I did not experience that problem. The negatives of these shoes are that they have more cushioning, but somehow they feel a tiny bit stiffer than the Speed 3s. They also feel a little bit hotter than the Speed 3s when playing on hot days. The most irritating part are the narrow shoelaces, so tightening the shoes to the right comfort can be tricky. And is it just me, or are these shoes very, very squeaky on the hard court? Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by Asics Solution Speed FF. Right out of the box, playing for two hours, three days in a row, with no problems at all.

Comments: These shoes look great and when I first put them on were super comfortable, but they are too narrow. I was in agony by the second set because they were squeezing my toes. I have a slight bunion on one foot and researched wide toe box tennis shoes. This one did not fit the bill. Really disappointed.

Comments: Tried an earlier FF and it was too tight. They have fixed the problem for me and I love these!

Comments: I was in love with the original Asics Solution Speed. With the FF, when I purchased my true size, after 15 minutes, my arches and heels started to hurt and there was bad stitching inside that was rubbing against my foot. I returned them for a bigger size, but, I have to wear two thick socks and there's still a nagging thick stitch that rubs against my foot. No ankle support either. Since I got it during clearance, I didn't waste my time to return, I just gave it to a friend. I miss the original Solution Speed shoes. They were the only shoes that were comfortable all around for me.

Comments: I love this shoe. I have high arches and for my foot it is the perfect shoe. I've tried adidas, New Balance, Nike, and more, nothing feels as good as Solution Speed FF. By far the best cushioning in the forefoot area. My only complaint is the new colors, not a fan of all the gold and rose gold.

Comments: This latest version of the Gel Solution Speed, the Solution Speed FF shoes, are terrible for me. My foot was sliding around in the foot-bed from day one. I loved how the previous models of the Gel Solution Speed fit, as well as the traction, cushioning, and durability. I don't understand why Asics changed the perfect shoe. I can't wear the FF shoes at all and will have to find a new tennis shoe. So sad.
From:Steph, 5/14/20
Comments: Comfortable, but no matter how I tied the shoe, my heel kept slipping out.

Comments: I have worn Solution Speed Asics for years. I have always loved them. This particular update to the model has made them wider and incredibly uncomfortable. Nothing like the shoes in the past. The plastic on top clicks while playing and as a result has rubbed blisters on my toes.
From:Melissa, 9/25/19
Comments: Dislike these shoes. The toe-box pops and the toe-box is rubbing a blister on the top of one of my toes.
From:Sharon, 9/17/19
Comments: They fit good. Just not very flexible and get hot during long periods of playing.
From:Lorena, 9/8/19
Comments: I really didn't like these shoes! I've bought Asics Gel Solutions for years because they are the only shoes that don't hurt my toes. These are hard, the plastic pops when running which is distracting and I have blisters and black toenails from wearing these. Very disappointing.

Comments: I love these shoes. I am not brand loyal because every time I get a shoe that I love, the company comes out with the new and improved version that doesn't work for me. I have a high arch and a medium width foot in street shoes and prefer a tennis shoe that fits a little more narrow. I am an aggressive mover that does a lot of sprinting on the court, and if I'm honest about my tennis playing, I know that my speed on the court helps make up for some lack of tennis skill. I do not like a lot of extra room in the width of the toe box, and I can't wear a shoe that my big toe gets jammed on quick stops. These were great right out of the box. They feel comfortable, are lightweight, cushion my foot, and feel more like a running shoe versus the old school clunkiness of a tennis court shoe. I am tempted to go ahead and buy a few more pairs and stock up for when these are no longer available. Love them.
From:Susan, 8/8/19
Comments: Very narrow, not breathable, too hot because of the foam inner sole. I have worn them for 1.5 hours and already my little toes are crying out, and they're a whole size bigger than my normal shoe.
From:Emma, 7/10/19
Comments: Disappointed. I have been a fan of Asics Solution Speed for years. Although I like the foam sole, the upper portion, particularly from the ball of the foot through arch area does not fit like Solution Speeds of the past. It seem overly large and when I bend my foot, there are bubbles and bunches of the extra material. There is too much room for foot movement side to side inside the shoe. This shoe fits poorly, unlike past Solution Speeds.
From:Ann, 6/28/19
Comments: The toe box is awful. I decided to keep these and try to make them work but after a month I'm so over the bunched material in the toe box that keeps popping out with excess material. I'm just going to donate these or something. Ugh I miss the Nike Vapor 9.5s.
From:Sherry, 4/24/19
Comments: Just tried on the new Speed Solution FF. They are horrible for me! Huge in the toe box and heel. Asics have been my go-to shoe for years now. Unfortunately will have to try new brands. Wish Asics would realize not everyone has a wide foot.
From:Karen, 4/16/19
Response from TW: Hi Karen -- so sorry to hear these shoes didn't work for you. Asics is actually known for having more narrow shoes and most players with wide feet can't fit in them, so that is a bummer these didn't work. Let us know if we can help you find another option!
Comments: I love these shoes. I think I may be in the minority here, but the Gel Resolution 7 did not fit well for me, too tight and too narrow. I took a break from Asics and went on to wear New Balance, but their shoes were too tight as well. Sometimes you don't know how the shoes really feel until you play an hour or two in them and when your feet swell, that's where the rubbing and jamming of the toes starts to happen. But stubborn me thought I just needed to wear them more often to get used to them and to break them in. When I started seeing bruised toenails, I knew it was time to give up. I was so happy when I tried these on, the Solution Speed FF shoes were a game changer for me. I didn't even have to break them in, they fit so well and I loved the new sole and foam support. I do agree that the laces are too thin, but overall I really love these shoes. I find Asics are a hit and miss for most, and need to try their different shoes to find the style that works best for them.

Comments: I don't like the new Solution Speed FF. They are not comfortable. I miss the Gel Solution Speed 3.
From:Mabel, 4/17/19
Comments: Hate the new Asics. Hate the toe box especially and the new material, hurts my toes. The former Solutions fit my feet like a glove. I have two brand new pairs and cannot wear them for more than an hour.
From:Linda, 4/14/19
Comments: I have been brand loyal to Asics for eight years. I started with the Resolutions and found my best fit with the Solution Speeds. I loved the Solution Speeds. This redesign is absolutely terrible. This shoe is not comfortable and no matter how many times I lace and re-lace the shoes, I can never get them where they feel secure on my feet. Also, the foot bed seems shallow and leaves part of the ankle unsupported. Just overall a bad design. I have purchased a pair of adidas Barricades, which I am also not a fan of in hopes this is just a phase for Asics and they will scrap this bad design and go back to what works.
From:Cherry, 4/9/19
Comments: This is a horrible redesign of the former Speed 3 shoe. Uncomfortable, doesn't fit well, skinny, weak laces. Overall so disappointing. Shoe is wider, not as cushiony, and just poorly made. Forcing me to leave Asics for other brands.
From:Kathleen, 1/11/19
Comments: These new FF's gave me plantar fasciitis. No support, feels great, but no support. The plantar go so bad, bought inserts, heel supports went to the doctor he said "change the shoe".Going back to the resolution 6.

Comments: I had the exact same problem as Lydia. Wore the shoes one time and the right one turned yellow. Tennis warehouse allowed me a one time free replacement and the replacement pair did the exact same thing. Right shoe yellows after one wearing. It's bizarre. My only recourse now is to contact asics directly. It's a shame because I love the fit of the shoes.
From:Julie, 9/5/18
Comments: One of the shoes has turned orange after one week of wear. Tried to wash them and it did not come out. Very disappointed to have two different color shoes! The shoes are not cheap and should not be unwearable after a week.
