Controllable power. Plush comfort. Updated with Auxetic technology for 2023

Head adds another chapter to the Gravity MP! Like the previous generation, this 2023 update combines a speedy 11 ounce strung weight with a 16x20 string pattern and 100 square inch head (think controllable power). Compared to conventional oval shaped racquets, the Gravity's teardrop shape gives it a more generous hitting zone toward the tip of the racquet - the upshot is a more forgiving, powerful and spin-friendly hitting experience. Although not quite as stable as the Gravity Pro, the MP not only feels feels solid for its weight class but it also delivers the kind of quick handling that aggressive all-court players crave. For 2023, the Gravity gets a slightly more flexible beam, giving it better ball feedback and increased pocketing for greater command over the ball. Head also adds Auxetic Technology to the throat piece, enabling the racquet to flex optimally according to impact location. This racquet also benefits from Graphene 360+ which combines the stability and easy power of polarized weighting with SpiralFibers in the lower head for a softer feel. With incremental tweaks to the feel, the Gravity MP continues to be a great option for the player who wants a speedy modern player's racquet with controllable power and best-of-class comfort.

4.0 over 40 club playerI demoed about 10 different racquets & continued to return to this racquet. It allows me to hit deep, controlled groundstrokes without much effort. People tell me that my groundstrokes have much topspin and that my serve has movement. In addition, I have little arm pain with this racquet. Overall, it's the finest racquet I've ever used.

Excellent intermediate racquetI am a relatively low intermediate male player that values solid feel, forgiveness, and comfort. This racquet swings fairly quickly from its low swing weight and medium low static weight. It feels very solid for its weight during recreational hitting, the vibrations are tame but not absent. The sweet zone is very generous and I don’t feel like I miss it often despite my improving technique. The comfort has been very good, I haven’t felt any discomfort or shoulder pain, which I typically suffer from. I think this is an excellent racket for intermediate players that want to improve their form while enjoying hitting.

Excellent ChoiceAfter switching from the Instinct to the Gravity, the change in feel is excellent. The sweet spot is very generous, and now, as an intermediate player, I feel a better balance among control, feel, and power.

Plays very diff than the head speedI bought this to replace my broken 2024 head speed mp. They play different. String set up is the same - tour bite 17 g at 50 Lbs. The speed has more plow through and top spin. The gravity hits flatter. I have added weight in the handle and sides to get it where I want it. If I only have ever know gravity racquets I would love it. For me it is very good. The speed just fits me better.

Gravity fanI switched to the Head Gravity MP with multifilament strings from a Head Speed Pro about a year ago after experiencing some tennis elbow. I am really happy with the Head Gravity! It is now my racquet of choice. I love that it provides all the things I loved about the Head Speed Pro (power, spin, stability), but is a bit lighter and much more arm friendly.

Terrible Quality Control by HEADThis is a review of the racquet itself, and not TW. I bought one in the secondary market and I'd like to share my experience. This should be an easy to hold an easy to maneuver racquet, right? NOT mine. The quality control by Head was terrible. My racket was a grip size 2. It immediately felt weirdly small. After a lot of frustration and having to add two overgrips, I ended up removing the replacement grip to see what the hell is going on. The pallets were indeed size 2 but I measured the circumference and it was 93mm (!). Most grip size 2 racquets handles without the grip are 96mm including my Pure Aero 2023, older Pure Aero 2019, and ironically my Head Speed Pro 2023. Yonexes can even reach 97mm (that a problem on the opposite direction). Second issue, and bigger one - the racquet immediately felt more head heavy or generally heavier than I expected. This is supposed to be a maneuverable 319 swing weight racquet. After getting so tired playing a set I had enough - I measured its SW at 331. Abysmal difference for an intermediate player. I literally removed the bumper guard to see if the previous owner had put any lead underneath. Nope. All in all it was an unpleasant experience with an unplayable racquet.
