For a more locked-in feel around the ankles, Mizuno has enhanced the lacing on the upper eyelets, and the tongue extends higher up on top of the foot; two key areas where Mizuno received feedback and made the fix. The cushioning remains plush, but now has more energy return with Enerzy NXT concentrated at the ball of the foot and heel; Enerzy XP is added to the insole for even more padding. Mizuno engineered the DX Rubber compound as their strongest and most wear resistant to date, formed into a full herringbone pattern for traction on clay courts.
