This traditional player's racquet combines surgical precision with outstanding feel

Boasting a new cosmetic for 2024, the TF40 (305g) 18x20 continues as one of Tecnifibre's most classic player's racquets. Like the previous generation, this racquet combines the laser-like precision of a dense 18x20 string pattern with great ball feedback and enough mass to easily redirect higher levels of pace.  It also delivers the benefits of a control-oriented 98in² head, making it easy to swing big and target the lines. Notable features include a unique 5-sided RS Sharp Beam, which enhances stability and control, along with Dynacore XTC for added touch, dwell time, and pocketing. This racquet is also packed with  Foam, giving it an impressively dampened and solid feel at impact. All in all, this update checks all the right boxes. Experienced players looking for control, feel and stability will love this one.

Not Playable in StockDemoed this racquet for a few hours; it is not playable for me in stock. At least if you are used to classic headlight racquets. Lots of weight needs to be added to the grip. It is 3 points headlight, I'm used to 7-9 points headlight racquets, 18x20. It's head-heavy, and ball flies far. Maybe also the tension on demo was too low. I think even a leather grip will not be enough. The feel is not bad. Level Utr 8.5

Lock, Stock and Smokin' Tennis BallsThis racquet has a plush feel when you hit the ball and provides a respectable spin for an 18x20. You can whip this racquet to hold a rally with pace and conviction. This stick is for intermediate to advanced players, but it is comparable to a Blade or Radical. Surprise your opponents with the Tecnifibre T40 305! Love this racquet!

For pure striking big hittersI demoed this racquet, since I've used the Speed Pro and currently use the Volkl V8 Pro, both of which are 100 inch 18x20s. This 98 inch 18x20 is a step up from those in control, and step down in power and forgiveness. It's for very powerful, very clean hitters who don't need help generating spin (spin is 80% technique anyway, only 10% racquet design, 10% string setup) and want a racquet that really responds when they want to hit a dead flat ball or putaway volley. I'm a 4.5 big server all-courter who looks to end points at the net, and I definitely see the appeal here, but I'm just not good enough to play with this. I wish I were, because it's a weapon for the right player. It's a bit more of a traditional feel and a bit more power and feedback than the Blade v9 18x20 or Blade Pro 18x20, and I'd say it's better than both. Karue Sell (pro, YouTube influencer) plays with this as of 2025, so see his review.
