Plush and forgiving, this midsize player's racquet gets a more aerodynamic beam for 2026

Meet the 2026 VCORE 95 8th Gen! Defined by its midsize head and 16x20 string pattern, this racquet delivers impressive accuracy on full cuts. It also has a sub-64 RA stiffness, giving it an arm-friendly feel with outstanding ball feedback. Like other members of the VCORE family, the VCORE 95 packs enough spin potential for bringing the ball down sharply. The signature feature remains the ISOMETRTRIC head shape, giving this stick a more plush and forgiving response than conventionally shaped equivalents. For 2026, Yonex redesigns the beam, giving it a faster, more aerodynamic shape while also thickening it in key locations for added stability and power. Additional 2026 updates include widening the grommet holes for increased string movement and greater snapback, as well as lengthening the inner trench at the tip for added flex and pocketing. To help with comfort, this racquet integrates a thin, elastic film (Servo Filter) within the layers of NAMD FlexForce Graphite, allowing the frame to flex optimally while also absorbing unwanted vibrations. This effect is complemented by a Vibration Dampening Mesh integrated into the handle, which further softens impact. Ultimately, with incremental updates to the beam and grommet system, the VCORE 95 continues to be an obvious option for players who want a user-friendly midsize player's racquet that does not skimp on comfort or spin.

Modern day classicI played with a VCore 89d from yesteryears and had trying the VCore 95 '23 as possible replacement. 23 wasn't it as it played too firm for my taste and I don't feel connected. In comes the '26 VC95... which in many ways feels different than the '23. It feels more plush, more predictable, and better string bed response. It's not quite comparable to the 89d, but it's close enough where the racquet characteristic is similar. I do wish static weight was a tad higher maybe 320g area, but in all the racquet plays larger than a 95, more steady than the Gravity Tour ( which I tried), and more responsive with the string bed. I added a few strips of RTP WASP strips at the throat to damping a some of the vibration into the handle, which seems to work great.

Special FrameLots of good racquets to choose from these days. But every once in a while, a manufacturer seems to get it just about perfect. And they did that with this one. It just has something special about it. An absolute joy to play with. If you have a one-handed backhanded, you HAVE to try this. No notes on this one. I need to buy 10 of them to have a stock of these for the rest of my days lol

Incredible racquet in all areas of playI bought both the 98 and the 95 and it was a close call, however, for me, the 95 was clearly the better racquet and so I am selling the 98 and keeping the 95. I think the reason is the thinner constant beam width and the 16x20 pattern. It is just better balanced and feels better on contact. You just get this sense of confidence when you swint out. This racquet just gives you the best control. It is amazing on serves, volleys and ground strokes. I also compared it to the previous and latest Babolat Pure Aero and once again, this is the clear winner. It feels so solid on every hit. Very rarely do you have an off center shot as it has plenty of sweet spot area. I think I actually get as much spin from this as the 98. My one advice is that you add a bit of weight to it. I put 3 grams each side at 3 and 9. Then 1.5 grams around the handle on the tape at the top of the grip and then put on an overgrip. That brought this racquet to absolute perfection! I am a 4.0 player with a full fast swing.

New Vcore 95 DeliversI was eagerly awaiting this racquet and wasn’t disappointed! The 95 headsize isn’t for everyone, but I’m a 4.0 player and have zero problems with it. Hits a heavier, less loopy ball than the new Vcore 98. I enjoyed that racquet but it felt like it was hard to hit shots that pushed opponents around. The 95 serves really well too, allowing either hard flat serves or kickers. Part of the reason I wanted this racquet was for the one handed backhand and it lived up to the hype. As a note, I’d been playing with a weighted up 2018 Vcore 95 for years and this model plays better without any weight other than 4 grams I added to the handle for maneuverability.
