The fifth generation in adidas' fastest shoe delivers on speed and breathability; Speedframe adds stability without adding weight.
Built for speed, the adidas Ubersonic 5 caters to the player who is looking to maximize their foot speed and move freely as they run down every shot. The minimalist mesh upper material is ultra breathable, and is layered on top of the half-bootie inner sleeve that feels glove like and comfortable. Adidas is able to keep the shoe ultra light but maintain its stability with the Speedframe technology; think torsional stability in a lightweight package. The Lightstrike cushioning in the midsole feels reactive and keeps you connected to the court. Adiwear rubber on the outsole is formed into a herringbone pattern for the perfect grip on a variety of court surfaces. Ventilation is enhanced from the mid-foot shank cutout on the bottom.
- Upper: Minimalist Mesh Upper on top of the half-bootie inner sleeve combines for a comfortable glove-like fit and plenty of breathability. Adituff Toe adds durability and protects the toe.
- Midsole: Lightstrike cushioning provides step-in underfoot comfort and a responsive feel to keep you reacting quickly.
- Outsole: Adiwear rubber compound in a modified herringbone tread pattern for traction and durability on a variety of court surfaces.
- Color: Lucid Red / Silver

Light, Stiff, and Light on SupportComing from using the Ubersonic 4.1, I was familiar with what I'd be getting. This was a stylish, light and speedy shoe. Similarly to the previous generation, I noticed some heel slippage and a low to the ground feel. The main thing that keeps me from using this shoe is the stiff upper on the toe area. It's a bit stiff, and has led to bruising on my toenails. This unfortunately is something I've experienced with several Ubersonics over the years, and so if you're looking for a shoe with a plush upper, you may need to look elsewhere. Otherwise, these are great if you're wanting a light, speedy, and low to the ground feeling shoe.
I wore through these before I broke them inBasically what the title said. I bought these and within two weeks the side was completely worn through. Within the last few days, I finally broke them in to the point where they were comfortable to wear on court. On the bright side, the sole itself is in perfect condition.
Bring Back Ubersonic 4I have been very loyal to the Ubersonic series of tennis shoes over the years. I have now played in my new Ubersonic 5s four times and to say I am very disappointed would be an understatement. The poor quality of the finish materials, the fit, the comfort and the overall performance is so far below the previous Ubersonic models that I will most likely be moving on to one of the other tennis shoe brands. Very sad they messed up a high quality consistently solid product.
ExcellentI am used to the Barricade and thought that the Adizero were not nice. I gave them a try and I did like them very much. They grab perfectly in the clay court and they are soft to the feet.
The BestI have been wearing Ubersonics for years. They are absolutely the best shoe for comfort on the market!
Ubersonic 5This edition is definitely an upgrade from the last model. They, thankfully, abandoned the “solid sole” philosophy and made a break at the arch to accommodate more flex and lighter weight. I was hoping for a return of the Featherlites from years ago. These are close but still play a little stiff even after a few weeks for court time. Think of this edition as a lighter version of the Barricades.
Best adidas shoeI usually need a slightly wider shoe, but this one fit great! Barely needed a break in. I have definitely found my go to shoe until they reassign.
Surprising ImprovementI liked the Ubersonic 4.1 a lot so I was concerned that the Ubersonic 5 was so much different. But I recently bought a pair and after wearing them around the house I tested them on the court and my happy verdict is they are better than the 4.1 (at least for my feet). I always wished the 4.1 locked in my heel more and the Ubersonic 5 does that and even seems to give support to my Achilles (which bothers me at times). When you first put them on you may think the toe box is not as roomy as the 4.1 but it's a non issue for me. I never thought about my feet on the court they felt so good. They may be my favorite shoe ever.

Very good!Exactly what I want out of a speed shoe. Light, low to the ground, very stable moving side to side, super confident sliding in them. The upper feels great on foot but if you're someone that wants a bunch of cushion under your feet these aren't for you. Can see why the pros are loving them

Incredible from adidasThese have got to be the best adidas shoes I've tried in years. They remind me of faster speed offerings from the likes of Asics and Nike, but with extra supportive sensations underfoot. There's a good reason why Dimitrov and Hurkacz switched to these shoes, and they're two of the best movers on tour obviously.
