New Balance's premium shoe for stability and durability, featuring Fresh Foam X in the midsole for a comfortable ride. This is the 2E Wide version.

Carrying on with the high performance stability, durability, and comfort from the Lav series, this New Balance CT Rally 2E features an all new Fit Weave upper to improve the comfort, support, and fit. The tried and true Fresh Foam X midsole is ultra plush for those long matches full of grinding rallies. The structure of this shoe is inspired by rally cars, and the external frame is designed to maximize lateral stability and keep you feeling confident moving at full speed. A reinforced heel counter enhances the fit around the heel and ankle region, while the bottom of the shoe provides a high level of wear resistance on the gritty hard courts. The NDurance rubber provides good grip but also allows sliders to skid into their shots. Backed by a six-month NDurance outsole guarantee.

  • Upper: New FitWeave design for a supportive fit and feel, with better breathability, flexibility, and comfort compared to the Lav v2. locks your foot down and adds stability only where necessary. NDure upper adds durability, plus external frame in the heel and forefoot to boost stability and locked-in feel.
  • Midsole: Fresh FoamX midsole in bigger hexes in heel for extra cushion and smaller hexes in forefoot for added stability provides excellent blend of comfort and responsiveness.
  • Outsole: NDurance rubber outsole in a modified herringbone tread pattern provides great traction and durability on any court surface, but is ideal on hard courts. Backed by a six-month NDurance outsole guarantee.

Nice fitI have a semi wide foot and New Balance always seems to end up in my closet. The comfort is usually right out of the box. Slightly, stiff but break in easily. I play pickleball 4-5x/wk and I wore the soles first pair of NB court shoes out in about 6-8 months. I feel they have an attractive design. Slightly more $$ compared to other brands, but comfort comes first

CT RallyToo much space in the toe box and shoe made an uncomfortable crease across the front foot and toe area when walking.

PT2erBeen playing these since they were issued (seems like 1.5 years ago) & just a great stability shoe with plenty of underfoot cushioning for a smooth ride. When I don't have to think about my shoes I know they're high quality & that's the feeling in these shoes. I have the 2E's & they fit my foot (high arch w/slightly wide forefoot area) perfect. I drop an Aetrix insole in to replace stock insole for better arch support. Durability is pretty good too imo. Prolly the best shoe I've played & I've been around a while. My only gripe with NB is they make a great color like the OG Black version then replace the colorway with mostly boring white colorway versions. Stick with the OG version colorway NB as it was the best.

Great support and cushionThis is one of the most comfortable shoes out there. I came from the Gel Resolution 9’s (in wide), but since I could not find anymore in the wide, I switched to these. These run slightly wider, so the regular fit actually fits me perfectly despite having wider feet. The only reason I did not give this shoe a 5 is because of breathability; there does not seem to be much airflow and feet can get quite hot/sweaty.

Sales people very helpful and professionalVery happy with purchase so far. Still breaking them in before I get out on the court with them. The sales person was very knowledgeable regarding the business and was very helpful.

Best all aroundThis is my second colorway I've purchased in the CT Rally and couldn't be happier. They are a little stiff at first but after six or so hours of play they start to really soften up and only get better as they wear and continue to break in. Fit my foot like a glove and feel fast while also very supportive. My only gripe is the heel slippage while they are being broken in. As long as I remain patient with that break in process they are the best athletic shoe I've ever worn

Great shoeI have a 12.5 E foot, and these fit great. Very comfortable, good support. If you find they feel too tight, try a different insole. When I first tried them on they felt tight, but after putting in my usual athletic shoe orthotic, they felt perfect.

996 or CT Rally..Ok. After many years of wearing the NB 996, I am now a huge CT Rally fan. Yes, I choked on the price but once I wore them, there is no going back. I have much better ankle support and overall more COMFORT. I play on hard and clay courts 5 - 7 X a week, singles and doubles. I bought another pair, different color right away. I got the 2E and I've had no heel slippage. Great job NB!

Great overall shoeThere was a bit of an issue getting these shoes, originally, but as usual, Tennis Warehouse did a good job of following through. As far as the shoes are concerned, they were comfortable right out of the box and there was no break in required. I purchased these shoes for the cushioning in the heel as I tend to have issues with that, and they’ve been great for that purpose so far.

Fan of this New Balance brandFirst off, I would have rated it a 5 but nothing is a five but this one is close in my opinion. I have been very active all my life trying numerous shoes outside of just tennis shoes. Big fan of the early Bo Jackson, Nike and Reebok cross trainers. Dating myself sorry. I only added this as I have tried and worn a lot of different styles of shoes for various activities over my years. I feel I know shoes and am critical due to the importance they bring along with good socks. Of most recent I have been wearing the Nike Cage as I look for a supportive shoe due to my desire of playing all court tennis. I replaced my hip in November and stopped playing for a while. Once back, the Nike Cage was hurting in my toe box area so I explored a new shoe. I couldn't be more pleased with the CT really. Very supportive, which is very important playing tennis, size accurate even though a previous review mentioned it was a tight fit. I really feel accurate and nice toe box room... a true D width. Break-in time was minimal. New Balance was the shoe I started wearing in the beginning but it disappointed me so I tried many others over the last 20 years. For me shoes are very critical due to having feet problems. This checked all the boxes. Hope this review helps some with future shoe decisions as our feet are very important and we need to take care of them. I have also been wearing the 860 v14 New Balance running shoe and very impressed with the comfort, support and style. Thank you

these are real goodI'm a low singles 4.0 player. I really liked these. They are not as wide as the Coco new balances I tried. Durability is good. Don't get your hopes up though. I have tried all the most durable shoes and still wear through them well before 6 months unfortunately. I wore through the sole and still have decent grip somehow. Sizing is difficult so please take this with a grain of salt. Same size in Nike feels smaller and tighter. Same size in asics feels much more narrow.

Best Hard Court Shoes EverThe best hard court shoe I’ve ever worn. 4.5/5.0, 48-year-old former USPTA pro. I have long feet, and two rebuilt ankles, so shoes are very important. Have to be a good blend of stability but without excessive weight - when wearing a 12.5, you feel every ounce. These are perfect. Really hope they make a clay sole version soon, and I hope to buy MANY of these!

Most cushioned and comfortable shoeI have been playing tennis for decades and at a high tournament level. Recently had some patella tendinitis and opted to go back to these shoes because they are by far the most comfortable and shock-absorbing shoes on the market. It helps my knee inflammation compared to other, stiffer shoes. The newer version is even better to secure the front of the foot, in my opinion.

My best experience so far...I really enjoy this shoe. As a long, narrow footed player, this shoe by far has been the most comfortable, durable and most importantly, best fitting shoe for me.

Cushioned, but heavyI purchased the CT Rally because NB offers shoes in various widths and I was looking for a shoe that came in a 2E width and was well cushioned. I have used this pair for four months and while the shoe is superbly cushioned and absorbs hard court shock very well, that advantage is offset by the fact that those shoes feel like boat anchors. They are just too heavy, at least for me. I find it very difficult to move quickly from side to side or forwards and backwards. To ascertain whether my movement limitation was due to the shoes or me, I purchased two different brands to play in. My movement in those shoes was more explosive and court coverage superb. Even my hitting partners and opponents commented on my superior movement and court coverage with the other two shoes. My regular hitting partner confessed that he had been wanting to tell me for a while that my movement in the NB was labored and slow. I have decided not to use the NB while playing tennis. I will use them when I go walking or shopping until they wear out. After that I will not use NB again. They are just too heavy for me.

Too longA half size too big which is very annoying, as it’s not worth the money for me to send them back to exchange. I’ll have to take the L.
