Finally a shoe that fit my feetAfter trying several brand names and models I finally found a tennis shoe that fit my feet. Have only played in it a few times and so far I find it comfortable and it provides adequate support. Draw backs - requires a break-in period, not the most breathable ( feet get too hot after about 2 hours)
TW is always the bestI buy everything tennis related for the last 15 years from TW, great service great pricing great shipping
Best fitting tennis shoeNew Balance MC 806 W 4E Men's Shoes. This tennis shoe is the best I have ever to date purchased. Reason for is because it is the shoe that has a wide profile for wide feet. Most tennis shoes do not accommodate a wide foot, whereas this shoe does. It has been the shoe of choice for several years now. And is a good comfortable fitting tennis shoe, which I will continue to purchase to solve my wide foot issue.
ComfortA very comfortable shoe requiring no break in time. It is not particularly good in terms of performance—it seems a bit clumsy. For all day comfort and fit on any court surface it is a winner however.
Not the 1006I have been using 1006 4E for many years. These have a narrow toe box and are extremely uncomfortable.
MC 806Great shoe that I have been buying for several years. My only complaint is the sole wears out too quickly around the edges of the heal. The rubber could be thicker or tougher in that area.

Review of New Balance MC806 W 2EI have been using these shoes for several years. I have a wide foot, and these tennis shoes fit me very well right out of the box. My only complaint is that they do not last very long, which is probably due to my playing three to five times per week.

Best tennis shoes for my feetBecause my history includes a ruptured Achilles’ tendon, stability and support are paramount to me. My experience is that the New Balance MC 806 give me better stability and support than any other shoe I’ve tried. Additionally, they’re comfortable straight out of the box and don’t require any break-in period. Finally, I have wide feet and love the fact that these shoes are available in different widths.

Reliable tennis shoes and good serviceI am a long-time fan of these shoes and have worn out many pairs. Thank goodness they keep making this model - unlike many athletic shoes. The ordering process was straightforward and delivery time was short. Good service.

Extra extra wide was perfectThese were for my husband, who has a very wide foot & recently suffered a stress fracture. He needed new shoes for tennis that actually accommodated the width correctly. So great to finally have shoes that fit. He loves them.

Tennis shoes ok, UPS very badI've been using these tennis shoes for around 12 years. They are very good. Since I need extra wide model, are there were not able to found them in Spain, I decided to buy them through Tennis Warehouse, being in Spain. The customs procedure, plus the super-bad UPS service really are not worth the purchase.

Perfect fit.I have completely flat feet. I had been wearing a shoe from a different manufacturer but it was discontinued. The New Balance model MC 806 W 4E fits my feet perfectly and is very comfortable. I am going to purchase another pair since they are such a comfortable fit, and you never know when a product will be unavailable in the future.

Excellent productThe New Balance model MC 806 WD is an excellent product. It's durable, stable and well-made. The price is a good value. Highly recommend this product.
What Happened!?Have worn the 806 for years, but this version is different. I'm used to a flat feel, but this shoe hurts the ball of my feet and my feet rock, meaning I'm falling forward. I ordered from another online source first and then TW, so it's the shoe, not the fact that a source had bad stock. Reading reviews on other NB models, guys are reporting problems with models they've worn for years, so why is NB tampering with success! If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Love the wide sizesGreat shoes and the 2E wide fit is much appreciated. Would have purchased the 4E for my right foot and the 2E for my left if they would let you mix sizes.
New Balance 806Like the fit, but these shoes are clunky. Don't think I'll purchase another pair.
My go-to tennis shoeI have wide feet, so the options for 4E tennis shoes come down to two choices. The other NB shoe is far less sturdy than the 806, and the new variant of that shoe is borderline weird (at least for me). The 806's have been excellent for years, and I play a ton of tennis.
New BalanceOrdered by phone through a knowledgeable employee. Pleasantly surprised and a timely delivery.
Best foot supportI wear orthotics and this shoe helps keep the appliance very stable.
Sizes are offI've worn this shoe or earlier equivalents for over 20 yrs. Always 8.5 2E. Suddenly I'm a 9 4E. Beware about size. Tennis Warehouse was great allowing exchanges.
Good for wide feetThese are the only tennis shoes that I have found that fit my feet.
I have a wide foot and the toe box in these shoes fits perfectly.
Great shoesI have a wide foot and these shoes fit perfectly. Very comfortable with the first use. Been using for several years and they wear well. Get a lot of use out of them before I need to replace.
A Bit DisappointingI do appreciate that New Balance is one of very few manufacturers who make a 4E court shoe for those of us with wide feet. And for some it may be the only shoe that works for them, but I do have some thoughts I'd like to share.
Like others, I was please the MC 806 was wide enough for me feet. Indeed, they accommodated my custom orthotics, which is a big deal for me. However this particular shoe did not hold my heel down very securely no matter how well I laced them up. Overall they had a rather clumsy fit and were also rather heavy. I didn't feel at all comfortable moving around the court in them. And, as others have pointed out, the shoe box tapers rather quickly...not a very pleasing aesthetic.
Although I won't be using this shoe for tennis or pickleball, I've found it is perfectly adequate for walking around, working out in the gym or wearing to the driving range.
For all my court activities I ended up purchasing the New Balance MC 1006 4E which, in my view, is an excellent shoe. I'll be submitting a review for that one as well.
I hope this helps!
Not greatShoes are on the heavy side and a bit stiff. They seem very durable and overall comfortable and roomy.
great shoesThe way all shoes should be made!
Long time New Balance userI rate these as 4.5. Predecessors of this model was recommended a long time ago as I was having foot problems with other brands of tennis shoe. I have had not problems since I started using these. They are quite comfortable and I find they also make walking a lot easier with my worn out knees.
It does appear the latest shoes purchased had where shorter in the toe area than previous purchase. A minor problem for me.
New Balance MC 806 W 2E Men's ShoesShoes fit comfortably. I waited a very long time to obtain them.

Comments: (POOR CONSTRUCTION, QUALITY) One of few real leather shoes in wide size. I am repeatable buying those (MC806 4E) for years. Sadly, not better choice known in real leather and wide fit. The sole is of a poor quality. In particular, glue used to bond plastic heel side with rubber sole/heel. Heel cushioning is not the best. But in general problem with all sport shoes is in very poor quality, not in amount of cushioning. Lack of an old style, real leather shoes with less cushioning. To increase profits, companies have replaced real leather with synthetic materials. Plastic heels needs more cushioning comparing to old style real leather shoes. -- Still missing tennis shoes from 30-40 years ago. --

Comments: The NB MC 806W 4E, is a frustrating shoe. I bought a pair, hoping to replace my NB MC 1006 with a shoe with better lateral support. This sneaker has excellent lateral support. Unfortunately, it also has two major issues. It is not a true 4E width, and players who need a true 4E will find that it pinches toward the front of the sneaker. The biggest problem is a lack of cushioning or a harshness - not sure what the problems is, but after even an hour on the court, my feet feel like they have been hammered from the sides and bottom, requiring icing when I get home. I am still searching for a stable, comfortable 4E shoe.

Comments: I came back to NB after trying all the others. Normally NB has had a wide toe box and the whole shoe has been simply to big. I have played in these for about a month now. The toe area is fine, still a bit big, but the arch support is not so strong. The toe area on the sole has a ridge cut across it and you have to make sure your toes bend with it. Better then the previous model but I would look elsewhere again. Wish Prince would come back with the TI Quik Trac.

Comments: I found these to be too short. I will have to go up a half size.
From: Gary, 11/16
Comments: I have a high arch (use custom orthotics) and wide instep, and found the 806 to be narrower than a true 4E. They were painful to play in, so I kept my fingers crossed and purchased a pair of NB 1006. While I prefer all leather uppers, the NB 1006 4E were a wider shoe -- I found them to be comfortable no matter how long I played, even on outdoor hard courts.
From: Ken, 5/16
Comments: I bought another pair. No toe jamming, no side pinching, no pain anywhere at all. Although the cushioning is too firm initially, I got used to the firmness. It is a very stable shoe. I am sold.
From: Charles, 3/16
Comments: I like these shoes except for the heel cushioning. There is no break-in required. There is no pinching or toe jamming. These shoes are very stable on the court. I tried several insoles but so far none provided the heel cushioning that I want. If I cannot find a good replacement insole for additional heel cushioning, I won't buy these shoes again.
From: Charles, 11/15
Comments: I have not had any issues like previous reviewers mentioned. I did replace the insole with a more plush and better insole. These shoes are really good, just wish the navy logo was filled in to show more color. I play on hard courts and they are very comfortable.
From: Mike, 11/15
Comments: I think these are a down grade in quality over the previous models. I got about 4 months of solid play out of them before I noticed a real difference. New Balance insoles are a joke. They sacrifice so much comfort. I put new insoles in these and they felt great. The stabilizer bar makes these, in my opinion, a higher performing shoe than all other New Balance but I used to get at least 6 months out of the prior versions and they were more comfortable. The price has also increased. Between the price increase and the much needed insoles these shoes are very expensive indeed. I just don't think they are worth the money anymore. I will be switching if I can find a reasonably priced alternative.

Comments: I've gone through two 804s and one 806 and I'm now on the next 806. That's 4 pair in 15 months! Well I'm 235 lbs and tend to play hard courts, but it still feels like a high burn rate, but I average 6 hours per week or less. The warranty is good, but some tougher rubber in the bigger sizes seems needed. They really are the best, supportive shoe. But the soles are not the best.
From: Mark, 3/14
Comments: Horrible downgrade to the 804 and 803. I used to be be able to play twice in one day with no foot pain. Now after just one match in the 806 my feet are killing me. New Balance is definitely going the cost- cutting route at expense of performance. Will be looking at Prince or Asics going forward.
From: Timothy, 3/14
Comments: The 806 was the most comfortable 800 series shoe for me since the 803. Alas, it does not measure up in durability. The heel wore out after just 8 outings. New Balance was great and quickly sent me my one replacement. This time I only got 7 uses. I only weight 195 lbs and never wore through any New Balance shoe this quickly let alone an 800 series shoe. Bring back the 803.
From: Stan, 2/14
Comments: I have always been a New Balance fan, and I'm always nervous when trying a new version of an old model. My nervousness is over. I have been planying with the 806 for several months and love them. They are comfortable and supportive. The first time I tried them on, I wasn't sure about the fit, but they immediately broke in. My caveats -- I generally play clay and grass, I use an orthodic, and I use one half size longer than my street shoe.
